Yorkshire Contracts Builds for the Future with YCTG Support

Yorkshire Construction Training Group (YCTG) is proud to highlight the success of member company Yorkshire Contracts, demonstrating how targeted training support and funding can help businesses grow and develop for the future.

When Yorkshire Contracts took on its first apprentice bricklayer, owner Ben Braithwaite wanted to ensure both the apprentice and the business had the right foundations for long-term success. Like many small business owners, Ben faced the challenge of balancing day-to-day operations with planning training and development opportunities.

Working closely with Ben, YCTG identified the qualifications and training that would support both his personal development and business growth. We also helped source funding opportunities and created a structured two-year development plan.

Through our network of training providers and funding partners, YCTG secured discounted training and helped access grant funding to support supervisory and business management training, alongside apprenticeship funding support.

The results have been outstanding. Yorkshire Contracts secured £3,700 in grant funding for business and supervisory training, as well as £8,500 in apprenticeship funding from CITB. The business has since expanded, adding two more qualified bricklayers to the team, and is now looking to recruit another apprentice.

At YCTG, we love working alongside our members to understand their individual needs and develop tailored training solutions that support business growth, workforce development and future success.
